BAUSUNG PENGANTIN DALAM ADAT TRADISI BANJAR PERSEPKTIF MAQASYID SYARIAH

Abstract

The tradition of Bausung Bride is one of the traditional processions in the marriage of the Banjar people, especially Banjar Kandangan, which is rich in philosophical, social, and spiritual values. This tradition is rooted in royal history and reflects respect for the bride and groom who are treated as kings and queens of the day. Along with the times, this procession has undergone changes, both in terms of implementation and supporting elements, such as traditional music and the role of the community. However, this tradition still has a symbolic meaning as a form of respect, gratitude, and hope for the newlyweds. From the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, this tradition is in line with Islamic values as long as it does not contradict the Shari'ah. The tradition of Bausung Bridal not only strengthens social ties but also preserves local culture that is in harmony with religious teachings, so it is important to be preserved in a modern context
