About the Journal

EDUSHOPIA: Journal of Progressive Pedagogy is published by the Department of Islamic Religious Education of Institut Sayid Muhammad Alawi Al Maliki Bondowoso.

The journal publishes academic manuscripts on Islamic Education Teaching and Studies in both the Indonesian and international contexts from a multidisciplinary perspective: especially within the classical Islamic scholarly tradition, Educational Studies, and other social sciences. Manuscripts are published in Indonesian with abstracts provided in both Indonesian and English.

Focus and Scope

The journal's scope encompasses a variety of scholarly articles based on research, theoretical concepts, and empirical experiences. The following areas fall within the journal's purview:

Classical Islamic Education Traditions
This category covers topics related to the foundational teachings of Islamic education derived from classical Islamic sources such as the Quran and Hadith, as well as other classical Islamic references.

Educational Studies
This area delves into the broader world of Islamic education, exploring subjects like the philosophy and fundamental aspects of Islamic education, educational policies in Islamic schools, curriculum development, and teaching methods in Islamic schools, among others.

Other Social Sciences
This perspective encompasses various disciplines within the social sciences, including anthropology, archaeology, demography, economics, human geography, law, politics, psychology, and sociology. All these fields can provide unique viewpoints for examining Islamic educational studies.

The journal is an open-access publication, allowing everyone to read, download, copy, distribute, print, or link to the full text of any article without any charges or prior permission from the authors or journal's editorial team.
