TRADISI PAMOGHIH DI DALAM PERNIKAHAN PERSPEKTIF MASLAHAH MURSALAH (STUDI KASUS DI DESA SUMBER PANDAN KECAMATAN GRUJUGAN KABUPATEN BONDOWOSO)

Abstract

Abstract^. The Pamoghi tradition is a local wisdom of the Madurese community, especially in Sumber Pandan Village, Grujugan District, Bondowoso Regency. This tradition takes place during marriage ceremonies as a form of social participation, where relatives and neighbors contribute household items to help the newlyweds start their domestic life. This study aims to analyze the Pamoghi tradition from the perspective of Maslahah Mursalah and to determine its social and Islamic legal implications. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach based on field research. Data were collected through interviews with religious figures, community leaders, and participants of the Pamoghi tradition, and were analyzed using the theory of Maslahah Mursalah as discussed by Imam al-Ghazali, Asy-Syatibi, and Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyyah.The results show that the Pamoghi tradition embodies maslahah hajiyyah (necessary benefit) because it provides economic relief and strengthens social ties. However, if practiced with compulsion or material motives, its benefit may diminish. In the light of Maslahah Mursalah, this tradition is permissible as long as it does not contradict Islamic law and maintains sincerity and mutual help.
